Clinton Football Coach Continues to Preach Improvement, Highlights Offensive Line Play

The Clinton High School football team was able to control the line of scrimmage Friday night in a 28-14 victory over Warrensburg-Latham in Central Illinois Conference football action.

The victory was the first conference win for second-year Coach Ron Bass who says the line play on both sides of the ball helped guide a Maroons team with a lot of young players on both sides of the ball.

Sophomore Colton Walker made his first start at quarterback Friday night as his older brother, Mason, the starting quarterback this year, is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Coach Bass was overall pleased with his performance and is optimistic about the future of the quarterback position for his team.

The Maroons will host Meridian next Friday night for senior night at Clinton High School.
