Final High School Football Poll of Season

The final week of the high school football regular season is here and once again there only minor changes in the weekly polls.

 

In Class 1A, Lena-Winslow and Ridgeview remain 1-2, respectively. Hope Academy and Camp Point Central swap spots for 3-4, respectively. After its week eight loss to Decatur St. Teresa, Shelbyville drops to no. 7, bumping Athens Fulton to 5-6, respectively. Ottawa Marquette and Greenfield Northwest swap places for 8-9 this week and Kewanee-Annawan-Weathersfield enters the top ten this week.

 

Decatur St. Teresa remains the unanimous no. 1 team in Class 2A. Maroa-Forsyth remains steady at no. 2. Wilmington is up to no. 3 this week dropping Bismarck-Henning a spot to no. 4. Rockridge and Tri-Valley move up a spot to 6-7, respectively. 

 

Johnston City moves up to no 7, followed by Pana who is new to the poll this week. North Mac drops from fourth to ninth this week and Nashville remains at no. 10 to round the 2A top ten.

 

The top nine in Class 3A remained unchanged this week. IC Catholic is no. 1 followed by Reed-Custer, Princeton, Byron, and Prairie Central to round out the top five. 

 

Mt. Carmel, Williamsville, Seneca and Tolono Unity remain unchanged 6-9 and Benton enters this week's poll at no. 10 replacing Eureka. 

 

Class 4A, the top 5 remain unchanged with Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin in the top spot. Richmond Burton checks in at no. 2 with a first-place vote to its ledger followed by St. Francis with the final first-place vote. Rochester and Joliet Catholic round out the top five. 

 

Stillman Valley and Carterville are unchanged at 6-7 respectively. Wheaton Academy and Macomb trade spots at 8-9, respectively and Genoa-Kingston enters this week's poll to round out the top 10.

 

In Class 5A, the top three remain unchanged with Kankakee, Sycamore and Mahomet-Seymour at 1-3. Morris and Highland round out the top five. Peoria High drops from no. 4 last week to no. 7 this week and LaGrange Park Nazareth enters the top 10 poll. 

 

Normal West moves up a spot in the final Class 6A poll of the season - moving up from no. 8 to no. 7. East St. Louis is this week's no. 1 team as the top 5 of the 6A poll remains unchanged. 

 

Class 7A, Chicago Mt. Carmel is the no. 1 team again this week. Pekin remains steady at no. 6 this week. 

 

Finally, in Class 8A, the top five is unchanged highlighted by Loyola Academy at no. 1.
