The Monticello Sages are looking to shake off a disappointing performance against Prairie Central last week on senior night and create some positive momentum going to the postseason tonight when they visit Tolono Unity to wrap up the regular season.
At 5-3 on the season, Monticello has qualified for the postseason but a sixth one would clinch that spot. Coach Cully Welter feels if his team plays like they did in week 7 against Paxton-Buckley-Loda, they can feel good about going into the first round of the playoffs regardless of the outcome tonight.
This week, Coach Welter has been preaching rebounding from last week's loss and taking pride in their play. He also wants the kids to think about creating some positive momentum going into the playoffs and not just be content with making the playoffs.
Unity is 7-1 on the season.
