Eureka used a fast start and Clinton could not recover in a 67-43 defeat from the Turkey Tussle Holiday Tournament at Clinton High School Thursday night.

Eureka opened up a 28-7 first quarter advantage and while the Lady Maroons stayed closed the rest of the way, they could never recover.

Clara Dempsey led the Lady Maroons with 14 points and Regan Filkin added 13. Avery Smith scored 10 points.

Ellie Cahill scored a game-high 33 for Eureka.

The Lady Maroons drop to 1-2 overall and will finish the tournamet Saturday at Clinton High School.
