Clinton Lady Maroons Clip Hawks

In a game heard Monday night on WHOW, the Clinton Lady Maroons downed the Meridian Hawks, 71-26, in CIC conference play at Clinton High School.  
 

Clinton jumped out to a 19-point lead in the first quarter, and never looked back.  They led 42-8 at half. 
 

Sophomore Reagan Filkin led the Maroons with 20 points.  Junior Heidi Humble was named the Serv Pro of Piatt/DeWitt County Player of the Game. She added 18 points, including 6 unanswered to end the first quarter, as well as numerous steals. Freshman Avery Smith contributed 15 points for Clinton as well.  
 

Meridian was led by Freshman Shelby Renfro with 6 points.  
 

Clinton improves to 6-5 overall, and 3-0 in the Central Illinois Conference. Meridian falls to 3-8 overall, and 0-2 in conference. 
 

The Lady Maroons travel to Cerro Gordo-Bement Tuesday night.
