Maroons Take Third At Hoopla

In a game heard Wednesday afternoon on WHOW, the Clinton Maroons downed GCMS, 57-37, to take third place in convincing fashion at the 25th Annual Monticello Holiday Hoopla.

Clinton jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter lead, and never looked back.  The Maroons built the advantage to 17 by the half, and cruised the rest of the way.

Clinton's scoring was led by Junior Dawson Graves with 16 points.  Junior Brooks Cluver dropped in 14 as well. Maroons Junior Mason Walker was named the Serv Pro of Piatt/Dewitt County Player of the Game.  He added 13 points, including a couple of highlight reel plays.

Gibson City was led by Junior Ty Cribbett with 12 points. The loss drops the Falcons to 10-3 on the season.

The Maroons improve to 13-2 with the win, and will next travel to Leroy on January 3rd. Our next Maroons "Game of the Week" broadcast on WHOW is set for Friday, January 6th, when Clinton hosts Sullivan in Central Illinois Conference play.
