HS GBBall: Tuscola Pulls Away Late From Clinton For Holiday Hoopla Title

The Clinton Lady Maroons hung around with Tuscola for three quarters but could not muster the offense late as the Lady Warriors pulled away late for a 55-44 girl's basketball Holiday Hoopla Championship from the Sievers Center at Monticello High School Wednesday night.

 

The two teams went back and forth throughout the third quarter and the Lady Maroons led 38-37 going to the fourth.

 

Tuscola led by as many as 15 late.

 

The Lady Warriors had three players score in double figures. Sydney Moss had 15 points and eight rebounds while Ella Boyer also scored 15 points. Izzy Wilcox added 12 for Tuscola. Harley Woodard also grabbed eight boards. 

 

Clinton was led by MaKayla Keoppel with 14 points and six rebounds. Clara Dempsey scored eight points. 

 

Tuscola shot 49-percent for the game and held Clinton to 32.7-percent shooting. 

The Lady Maroons did a good job on the boards, being outrebounded just 32-30. 

 

The Lady Warriors turned 16 Clinton turnovers into 16 points and had ten points in transition.

 

Tuscola wins the Holiday Hoopla and remains undefeated at 18-0. Clintonfalls to 10-8. 

 

The Lady Maroons return home next Thursday night to host Tri-Valley.
