Sweltering Start for Clinton Maroons Boy's Basketball Team Creating Excitement Throughout School, Community

The Clinton Maroons boy's basketball team is coming off a 3-1 third place finish at the Monticello Holiday Hoopla last week and now begins the pivotal stretch of the season where coaches and teams aim to start playing their best basketball with the postseason not that far off.

First-year Maroons Coach Vic Binkley was pleased with his team's effort at the Hoopla and even pulled back the reigns a little bit in the finale, a convincing 57-37 win in the third place game of the Hoopla.

According to Coach Binkley, a 13-2 start to the season is a tip of the hat to the players and he sings the praises of the group of kids they are.

The Maroons travel to LeRoy for a non-conference game this evening at 7 pm before returning home Friday night vs Sullivan to open Central Illinois Conference play at 7:30 pm.
