Three Illini Prairie Conference Teams Make 2A Top 10; Decatur LSA No. 2 in 1A

A trio of Illini Prairie Conference teams is in the top 10 of the latest Class 2A High school boy's basketball state rankings.

 

At 17-1 overall, Prairie Central received two first-place votes staying put from last week's poll at no. 2 overall. Princeton is the top team in 2A. 

 

Columbia, Breese Central, and DePaul College Prep rounds out the top 5.

 

Rockford Christian is No. 6 this week followed by Beecher. 

 

St. Joseph-Ogden is No. 8 followed by Pontiac which is new to the rankings at no. 9 and Massac County rounds out the top 10 in Class 2A.

 

In Class 1A, Jacksonville Routt is no. 1 followed by Decatur LSA, unchanged from last week's rankings. 

 

Altamont and Waterloo Gibault move up a spot each to No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.  Centralia Christ Our Rock rounds out the top 5.

 

Illini Bluffs, Casey-Westfield, Pecatonica, Augusta Southeastern, and Salt Fork rounds out the top 10. 

 

Chicago Simeon is the No. 1 team in Class 3A followed by Metamora, Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin, Hillcrest, and Decatur MacArthur to round out the top 5.

 

Chicago Mt. Carmel, East St. Louis, Hyde Park, Grayslake Central, and Burlington Central rounds out the top 10 in 3A.

 

Mt. Zion was just a few points shy of making the top 10 in 3A.

 

In Class 4A, Chicago Kenwood is No. 1 overall this week. 

 

In the latest high school girl's basketball rankings, Tuscola is the No. 2 team in Class 1A. 

 

Lincoln High School tied for third in Class 3A with Peoria Notre Dame. Peoria Central is no. 2 in the latest poll in 3A.

 

In the latest Class 4A rankings, Normal Community is no. 6.
