HS GBBall: Rantoul Clips Monticello

In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, the Rantoul Eagles took advantage of Monticello miscues to clip the Sages 45-32 in Illini Prairie Conference high school girl's basketball Monday night from the Sievers Center at Monticello High School.

Ta'Niya Poke led the way for the Eagles with 15 points but was active all over the defensive end to help disrupt Monticello's offense.

Tashay Jackson-Roper scored ten points for Rantoul.

Monticello was led by Maia High's 10 points. High's offensive effort as well as her relentless work on the boards earned her the ServPro of Piatt/DeWitt County Player of the Game.

The Eagles pick up its first Illini Prairie Conference win to go to 1-4 in league action and 3-11 overall. Monticello falls to 7-17 overall and 1-4 in Illini Prairie play.

Monticello is back in action Thursday for the Illini Prairie Conference/Sangamo Conference shootout at Monticello High School.
