HS BBALL: St. Teresa Claims CIC Tournament Championship Over Clinton

In a game heard Friday night on WHOW, the St. Teresa Bulldogs captured the CIC Tournament Championship over the Clinton Maroons, 71-43, at St. Teresa High School. 
 

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-0 lead, and never looked back.  Clinton trailed 12-4 after the first, and then 21-13 at half.  The second half saw St. T pull away; pouring in 50 points from all areas of the floor. 
 

The Bulldogs had four players in double figures, being led by senior Martin Velchek's 17 and junior Rhheem Tyus' 15.  St. T improves to 20-5 with the win. 
 

Clinton falls to 20-6 with the loss.  The Maroons were led by Junior Mason Walker, who had 17 points, and was named the Serv Pro of Piatt/DeWitt County Player Of The Game.  Junior Brooks Cluver added 14; 10 of those in the fourth quarter.  
 

Clinton returns to action Monday against Edinburg.  Our next WHOW Maroons "Game of the Week" broadcast is Tuesday night when Clinton hosts Warrensburg-Latham for Wall of Honor night.  Varsity tip is slated for 7:30pm on all WHOW platforms!
