Maroa-Forsyth Falls Short to Auburn

Kaiden Maurer scored 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and Grant Smith had 18 first-half points but the Auburn Trojans rallied in the fourth quarter to get by Maroa-Forsyth 70-63 in Sangamo Conference boy's basketball action from Auburn Friday night.

 

Smith helped propel Maroa-Forsyth to a 36-24 lead at the break but Auburn's offense came alive in the second half with a 19-11 third quarter and then a 27-16 fourth quarter. 

 

Mitch Williams scored 13 points for Maroa-Forsyth. 

 

Talin Kern scored all 18 of his points in the second half for Auburn. Carter Hunley added 16 points and Nathan Barth finished with 14.

 

Auburn moves to 20-7 overall and is 5-1 in the Sangamo Conference.

 

Maroa-Forsyth falls to 13-14 overall and 2-4 in the Sangamo.

 

Maroa-Forsyth returns home Saturday hosting Argenta-Oreana.
