HS Softball: Lady Maroons Experience Paying Dividends in Spring Practice

The spring 2022 season was one that was very challenging for the Clinton Lady Maroons softball program.

 

A slew of injuries forced young players into expanded roles at the varsity level and head coach Andrea Rhoades says that experience is already showing itself in spring practice. With the season opener Monday, she's been happy to be back around the players.

 

 

According to Coach Rhoades, the returning class of players that had experience last year plus a couple of new players to the program. She feels they have a lot of flexibility, and that is a good thing.

 

 

Early on in the practices, Coach Rhoades notices her team needs to get better in their game awareness and situational intelligence. That has been something they are working on so far.

 

 

The Lady Maroons host Decatur Eisenhower Monday afternoon at 4:30 pm to open the season. Hear the game live on WHOW and its many digital platforms.
