Maroons Baseball on WHOW Today, White Sox To Air if Game Postponed

It has been a slow start to the high school baseball season for Clinton and if somehow conditions are good enough to play baseball in central Illinois today, Maroons baseball can be heard on WHOW and its digital platforms.

The Maroons started a game Tuesday against Mahomet-Seymour but it was called due to rain after 2 1/2 innings. Clinton welcomes Olympia to Clinton High School this afternoon for a 4:30 pm first pitch.

If there is a baseball game today, hear it on WHOW and its many digital platforms.

In the event there is no high school baseball today, hear White Sox spring training action at 3 pm.

White Sox center fielder Luis Robert believes the intensity of the World Baseball Classic has helped him get more prepared for the regular season, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Robert played for Cuba in the World Baseball Classic and went 7-for-27 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI.

He returned to camp Tuesday and relayed to reporters that he feels that playing in meaningful games this spring will help him get off to a better start with the White Sox in the regular season.

Robert is expected to return to the team's lineup for today's Cactus League action.

Eyers are on Eloy Jimenez (calf) who served as the White Sox's designated hitter and cleanup batter in Wednesday's split-squad Cactus League game against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Jimenez exited early in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks due to what the White Sox labeled as right calf camping, and fortunately for the 26-year-old, the issue wasn't anything more severe than that.

After getting Tuesday off to rest and rehydrate, Jimenez is good to go one day later. In an effort to keep Jimenez healthy following consecutive injury-riddled campaigns, the White Sox could have him see an even larger share of his work out of the DH spot rather than the corner outfield in 2023.

Jimenez made 50 starts as a DH and 30 as a left fielder last season.

The White Sox begin the regular season a week from today at Houston. Hear White Sox baseball again this season on WHOW.
