Three Mt. Pulaski pitchers combined to shut out Illini Central in allowing just two hits as the Hilltoppers opened the Tomahawk Conference slate with a 13-0 victory over Illini Central Tuesday from Mt. Pulaski High School.
Chance Payne and Evan Cooper drove in a pair to pace the Mt. Pulaski offense. Jackson Fricke reached base three times all on walks and scored three runs.
AJ Bailey doubled and drove in a pair finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of runs.
The Hilltoppers are 2-0 and 1-0 in the Tomahawk. They travel to Okaw Valley this afternoon.
