A three-run fifith inning broke the game open for Blue Ridge as they topped Danville Schlarman 6-1 in non-conference high school girl's softball action Thursday afternoon in Farmer City.
Cassie Zimmerman drove in the first run of the game with a triple.
Alexis Wike and Lily Summers, all drove in runs in the big fifth inning.
Carmen Ellis was credited with the victory for Blue Ridge. She finished 3 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three.
