HS Baseball: Monticello Rally Against Williamsville Falls Short

Jacob Trusner hit a game tying, three-run home run in a five-run sixth inning but Monticello's rally against Williamsville fell short in a 9-8 non-conference loss to Williamsville Saturday in Monticello.

Trusner's four RBI performance was not enough for the Sages, who's bats got off to a slow start Saturday.

The Bullets jumped out to an 8-3 lead and led 7-0 before the Sages scored in the bottom of the fifth.

Ike Young and Luke Teschke each finished 2-for-4 for the Sages. Young had a pair of triples while Teschke tripled and singled. Eli Craft was 3-for-3 for the Sages.

Monticello drops to 10-2 overall and will travel to Maroa-Forsyth this afternoon.
