The Clinton Maroons scored three first-inning runs but could not hold on against Sullivan in an 8-5 defeat in Central Illinois Conference boy's baseball action from Sullivan Wednesday afternoon.
Jack Manning was touched up for six runs, just three were earned and two runs allowed by Brooks Cluver were unearned as the Maroons committed three errors.
The Maroons had played much better defense of late.
Mason Walker and Noah Bass each finished 2-for-4 while Colton Walker was 2-for-3.
Schafer Ogle drove in three runs for the Redskins who move to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in the CIC.
Clinton falls to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the Central Illinois Conference. They will host Shelbyville Friday.
