HS Sball: Argenta-Oreana Rallies Past Lady Maroons

In a game heard Tuesday evening on WHOW, the Clinton Lady Maroons fell to the visiting Argenta-Oreana Bombers, 11-9, in non-conference softball action.

Clinton jumped out quickly with a five run first inning, and would lead, 8-6 going into the seventh, but the Bombers plated five in the top of the seventh and would hold on from there.  Argenta's big inning was highlighted by Addison Maiden's Grand Slam.  She launched a pitch over the center field fence to put the Bombers in front for good.

The Lady Maroons saw some fireworks offensively as well.  Heidi Humble blasted two home runs, going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, and earning the WHOW / Serv Pro Of Piatt/DeWitt County Player of the Game.   Kylee Isaac also went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, and Sarah Mills was 1 for 3 with two runs batted in for Clinton.

Maiden finished 2 for 4 with a grand slam, a double, and six RBIs to lead Argenta.  Gracie Manning was also 3 for 5 with a double and two runs batted in for the Bombers.

Abby Jackson took the win in relief for Argenta-Oreana as they improve to (10-7) on the season.

Anelise Thompson took the loss for Clinton as they fall to (6-15) on the season.  The Lady Maroons will look to rebound Wednesday afternoon as they host Tuscola.

The Lady Maroons will next be heard on WHOW on May 10th versus Eureka.  Our next WHOW Maroons Game of the Week comes up next Wednesday, May 3rd, when the Maroons host Argenta-Oreana in baseball action.
