HS Softball: Blue Ridge Holds Off GCMS

The Blue Ridge Lady Knights scored the final five runs of the game and took down GCMS 8-3 in non-conference high school girls' softball action Wednesday in Farmer City.

 

Lily Enger missed the cycle by a double, finishing 3-for-4 with a triple, homer, and three runs batted in. Cassie Zimmerman doubled and tripled, finishing 2-for-4 for Blue Ridge. 

 

Carsyn Stiger doubled in a run for the Lady Knights.

 

Ellie Schlieper picked up the win in circle for Blue Ridge. She fired seven innings of three-run ball with five strikeouts. 

 

The Lady Knights have won three in a row and four of five overall. Blue Ridge plays its next five games on the road. They travel to LeRoy this afternoon for a non-conference and finish the week at Arcola Friday and Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond for Lincoln Prairie Conference play.
