HS Softball: Arcola Rolls Blue Ridge

Arcola cooled off Blue Ridge with an 11-1 ten-run rule, five inning win Friday in Lincoln Prairie Conference girl's softball action.

Blue Ridge entered Friday's contest playing well as they were winners of three in a row and four of five overall but Arcola took advantage of 11 Lady Knights errors and Ellie Schlieper allowed 11 runs, but only three were earned.

Schlieper struck out four and walked one.

The Lady Purple Raiders did not have a single extra base hit. Reyli Vega and Vanessa Condarco recorded three hits apiece to lead Arcola. Jacey Kessler had two hits.

Alexis Wike went 3-for-3 for Blue Ridge and scored the only run.

Keira Hohlbauch struck out 12 across five innings of one run ball for Arcola.

The Lady Purple Raiders move to 9-6 overall and 5-2 in the Lincoln Prairie.

Blue Ridge drops to 8-10 and 3-4 in conference.

The Lady Knights will host Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond Saturday in Lincoln Prairie action before a non-conference tilt at Heyworth on Tuesday.
