Monticello hit three home runs and powered its way past a struggling Tuscola squad, 22-1 in a four-inning, non-conference win Wednesday in Tuscola.
Jacob Trusner, Logan Chupp and Luke Teschke all left the yard Wednesday. Trusner drove in four and added a double, Chupp drove in four, and Teschke drove in three.
The blowout allowed Monticello to go deep into its bench. Sophomore Carter Foran was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Sophomore Matt Swartz was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Biniam Lienhart finished 2-for-2 for the Sages who scored ten runs in the first inning.
Spencer Mitze pitched three innings allowing a run on six hits, he issued a walk and struck out four.
The Sages go to 16-4 overall. They travel to Rantoul this afternoon.
