HS Softball: Blue Ridge Rallies Past Donovan

The Blue Ridge Lady Knights came out on top in a back-and-forth 5-4 win in non-conference high school girl's softball action Wednesday from Donovan.

 

Blue Ridge got on the board first with a three-run third inning to go up 3-0 but Donovan answered getting two runs back in the bottom half of the frame and went up 4-3 with two more in the fourth inning.

 

The Lady Knights went ahead for good when Carmen Ellis tripled in the go-ahead run with the score tied at 4-4 in the sixth inning. 

 

Cassie Zimmerman doubled twice finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. 

 

Lily Enger, Carsyn Stiger, and Lily Summers had base hits for Blue Ridge. Stiger, Summers and Ellis drove in runs as well. Ellie Schlieper struck out ten across seven innings. The sophomore allowed four unearned runs and permitted seven hits and issued zero walks. 

 

Blue Ridge goes to 9-13 overall. The Lady Knights host Bethany-Okaw Valley Friday.
