HS Baseball: El Paso-Gridley Too Much For Mt. Pulaski

El Paso-Gridley was too much for Mt. Pulaski and took home an 8-3 non-conference victory in high school boys' baseball action Thursday in El Paso.

The Hilltoppers got on the board first with a 2-run first inning but the Titans scored the game's next eight runs and the Hilltoppers could muster little offense after in an effort to comeback.

Luke Martin was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Jackson Fricke was 1-for-1 with a double and a walk. Liam Smith was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Mt. Pulaski while Clay Aylesworth stole two bases.

Martin pitched four innings in relief of Chance Payne. Martin struck out seven allowing three runs, one was earned, on four hits, and issued one walk.

The Hilltoppers committed an uncharacteristic three errors in the game.

Mt. Pulaski is 25-3 on the season. They host Warrensburg-Latham this afternoon.
