HS Softball: Blue Ridge Rolls Okaw Valley

Blue Ridge used a ten-run fifth inning to run-rule Bethany-Okaw Valley 14-4 in five innings in the Lincoln Prairie Conference finale Friday afternoon in Farmer City.

 

Cassie Zimmerman was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. 

 

Lily Enger doubled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored a run finishing 1-for-2. Alexis Wike was 2-for-4 at the top of the Lady Knights lineup and drove in a run and scored a run. 

 

Blue Ridge was very active on the base paths. Lily Summers and Carsyn Stiger stole four bases apiece. Enger, Zimmerman, Carmen Ellise and Presley Hardesty each stole two bases. 

 

Ellie Schlieper struck out ten in five innings. The sophomore allowed four runs, just one was earned, on seven issues and issued three walks. 

 

Blue Ridge is 10-15 on the season and wraps up the Lincoln Prairie Conference 4-5. They are at Delavan Saturday before beginning Regional play Monday hosting Champaign St. Thomas More in a Regional quarterfinal matchup.
