Clinton High School Names Nate Ennis as Varsity Baseball Coach

Clinton High School alumn and business owner Nate Ennis has been named the head coach of the Clinton High School varsity baseball program.

Ennis played four years of baseball at Clinton High School and now owns his own State Farm agency. He calls the timing of this opportunity perfect and a dream come true.

Coach Ennis walks into a program with a senior class that has high expectations but there's a group of sophomores behind them that are very talented and he has coached all these kids at some point between junior high and high school.

For Coach Ennis, he wants to focus on his players knowing the game of baseball, having situational awareness and having fun playing and winning.

Athletic Director Matt Koeppel is excited to have Ennis in the fold and says it obviously is beneficial that Ennis has coached most of this group already and is familiar with them.

For Ennis, coaching runs in the family. His brother Aaron is the head basketball coach at Maroa-Forsyth High School and his father, Brian, has coached or helped coach several programs over the years. He coaches junior high baseball and is an assistant coach for the girl's basketball program.

Coach Ennis indicates he will work to get integrated into the high school program again and then perhaps next year begin to work on getting more established in the youth baseball scene in Clinton.
