In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Monticello topped Urbana 42-22 in non-conference high school girl's basketball action from Monticello Monday night.
Megan Allen led all scorers with 12 points, scoring eight in the first half and helping stake the Lady Sages to an 18-11 halftime lead.
Monticello shut out Urbana in the first quarter but did not get off to a fast start start, leading just 6-0 at the end of the first period.
The Lady Sages blew the game open with a 13-2 third period and led 31-13 going to the final quarter.
Maia High scored seven of her 11 points in the fourth quarter for Monticello.
Aziyiah Davis led the Lady Tigers with eight points and Zion Reid added seven, highlighted by a half-court buzzer-beater to end the first half.
Allen was the ServPro of Piatt/DeWitt Counties Player of the Game.
