Monticello defeats Marshall in a Saturday afternoon game heard on WEZC.
The Sages jumped out to a 15-11 lead after the first quarter of play and never trailed the rest of the game.
Monticello was led by Ike Young in scoring with 10 points and 6 rebounds as he went 4-7 from the field and 1-5 from the charity stripe. Raiden Colbert scored 7, Trey Welter scored 8, and Maddux Quick scored 7. The Sages shot 40.4% from the field for the game and shot 30% for three-pointers.
Marshall was led in scoring by Payton McGuire who scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds. Other Lions in the scoring column were RJ Mattas with 8, Bentley Delp with 8, and Avery Sheets with 6.
With the win the Sages are now 2-1 on the season, and the Marshall Lions are now 2-3 after the loss.
Monticello's next game will be on Tuesday, December 8th when they host the Williamsville Bullets.
