HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Looking to Continue Recent String of Success

The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans boys baseball team is quickly building a reputation football isn't the only sport that is perennially a force on the Illinois athletic scene.

 

After a state finals run in 2022, the Trojans encore performance was another Regional championship in 2023. Coach Sean Martin says coming into this year, they are going to have to see guys step up in certain positions.

 

 

Coach Martin indicates of the players they have returning, they have some very solid players that will lead his team.

 

 

The Trojans have experienced a great deal of success in the last three years with a trio of Regional championships and a state finals run, Coach Martin attributes a lot of the success to kids who love baseball and enjoy coming to the diamond every day.

 

 

Coach Martin credits the makeup of his team and the way they want each other to succeed. He says it is a dream scenario for a coach to be able to have a group of players like that.

 

The Trojans will open the baseball season next Monday hosting Shelbyville. Maroa-Forsyth plays its varsity baseball games in Forsyth Park.
