Clinton High School senior boy's basketball star Mason Walker was named an IHSA All-State third-team selection Friday evening.
Walker helped steer a Maroons basketball turnaround that resulted in back-to-back 20-win campaigns and a Central Illinois Conference regular season title this year.
Additionally, he was part of a rare feat while a varsity basketball player at Clinton. Along with Walker, Brooks Cluver, and Dawson Graves were one-thousand-point scorers for the Maroons, who fell in a Regional championship this year to Peoria Manual.
Clinton finished 28-5 overall and 5-0 in the CIC this past season and finished 24-8 during the 2022-23 basketball season.
Joining Walker on the third team all-state was St. Joseph-Ogden senior Tanner Jacob, Tolono Unity senior Henry Thomas, and Prairie Central senior Tyler Curl.
Monticello's Trey Welter was named an all-state honorable mention as well.
The high school boy's basketball season wraps up this weekend with the state finals in Champaign at the State Farm Center.
