Illinois State Swept By No. 9 Vanderbilt

The Illinois State baseball team fell in the series finale at Vanderbilt by a 4-0 scoreline Sunday at Hawkins Field completing the weekend sweep for the Commodores. 

 

Illinois State saw five Redbirds record a hit as the 'Birds drop to 5-8 overall.

 

Devin Futrell threw a complete game shutout for no. 9 Vanderbilt, as the Commodores improve to 14-3 overall in 2024.

 

Tanner Perry got the Sunday start, going 4.2 innings with 6 strikeouts and Joe Husak provided 3.1 innings of relief with two strikeouts Sunday.

 

Judah Morris recorded the lone extra-base hit for ISU with a double in the seventh. 

 

Illinois State is scheduled to travel to face Indiana in a midweek contest on Wednesday.
