Connor Kelly pitched five scoreless innings and Maroa-Forsyth picked up a season-opening win over Shelbyville 5-0 in non-conference high school boy's baseball action Monday in Forsyth.
Kelly struck out five while allowing just a hit and a walk in his season-opening start.
Andy Munjoy and Tate Bradenburg brought in runs with doubles. Kaiden Maurer stole two bases finishing 1-fo-3 with a walk at the top of the Trojans order.
Munjoy was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Bradenburg finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk.
Ace Giles was 1-for-3 for Maroa-Forsyth.
Ian Reid closed out the win for the Trojans with two scoreless innings. He walked one, struck out two and allowed a hit.
Maroa-Forsyth is 1-0 on the season and will travel to Meridian on Tuesday.
