HS Baseball: Delavan Knocks Off Clinton

Clinton bats were slow to get going and fell to Delavan 4-3 in non-conference season-opening boys baseball action Monday from Clinton High School. 

 

The Maroons struck out 14 times and its pitchers issued eight walks.

 

Josh Bass paced the Clinton offense going 2-for-4 with a triple. Colton Walker was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

 

Brock Wilson, Brooks Cluver, and Jack Manning each recorded hits for Clinton.

 

Mason Walker's senior baseball season started slow on the mound for the Maroons. He issued five walks in an inning and two-thirds. The southpaw struck out five and allowed two runs on three hits. 

 

Preston Curtis struck out four in 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for Clinton. 

 

The Maroons drop to 0-1. They will look to rebound when they host Lexington at Evans Field on Wednesday afternoon. Hear the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
