HS Baseball: Mt.Pulaski Rolls Into Spring Baseball Season Ready to Meet Expectations

When the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers baseball team made the state finals in the spring of 2021, they found out it is very difficult to return to that place - no matter how good your team is.

Coach Joel Washko has built a very strong baseball program in Mt. Pulaski and like many programs that have earned their way to Peoria for the state finals, no matter how good your team is, it is incredibly difficult to return. This spring his team is looking very strong and eager to build on its recent success.

While a strong group of seniors graduates out of the program, Coach Washko likes what he has coming back this year.

According to Coach Washko, things start with his senior Landon Smith who he says does a little bit of everything and is one of the better players to come through their program in a couple of years.

Mt. Pulaski opens the season today when they visit North Mac.
