Ryan Theile hit a three-run home run and three Normal Community pitchers combined for one-run, one-hit ball as the Ironmen rolled Pekin 12-1 in five innings of the Ironmen's season opener Wednesday in high school baseball action in Pekin.

Josh Eisfelder had a two-run pinch-hit double and Reid Johnson had a two-run, pinch-hit base hit off the bench for Normal. 

Owen Cavanaugh was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Ironmen while Brady Burkhart was 2-for-3 with a run scored and run batted in. 

Brady Bengsten went two innings of one-hit, shutout ball on the mound. The senior struck out six in two innings of work. Parker Michels struck out five in two perfect innings of relief to close out the win for Normal Community. 

The Ironmen are 1-0 on the season and host Metamora today at 4:30 pm.
