HS Softball: Blue Ridge Outlasts Oakwood

Addison Roos and Ellie Schlieper led Blue Ridge over Oakwood 7-4 in non-conference girls softball action Wednesday in Farmer City.

 

Roos finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Knights, who overcame an early 3-0 deficit. 

 

Schlieper struck out 11 in seven innings. She allowed four runs, two were earned, on six hits and permitted just one walk. She was also 1-for-2 with a double.

 

Cassie Zimmerman finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Roos and Zimmerman each stole multiple bases for Blue Ridge who stole bases for the game.

 

Carsyn Stiger and Lily Summers drove in runs for the Knights. 

 

Blue Ridge goes to 2-5 overall. They will travel to Villa Grove on Monday for its Lincoln Prairie Conference opener.
