HS Baseball: Four Run Fifth Inning Helps Normal Community Past Dunlap

Normal Community kept its unblemished record intact - scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and rallying past Dunlap 7-5 in non-conference high school boys baseball Saturday in Normal.

 

Riley Hendren drew a bases-loaded walk to make the score 5-4. Ryan Theile grounded out to add another run and tie the score at 5-5. Anthony Gura broke the tie with an RBI single for the Ironmen.

 

Kyle Beaty was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored at the top of the order for Normal. Kaileb Hackman added an RBI base hit for the Ironmen while Hendren scored two runs. 

 

Jack Richards and Luke Klunke combined for five one-run innings for Normal. Richards allowed a hit and struck out three in two innings. Klunke struck out three, walked four, and allowed a run on two hits. 

 

The Ironmen go to 12-0 on the season. They will travel to Champaign Central on Monday for a rematch of an 8-5 win for Normal on Friday in Normal.
