HS Baseball: Monticello Rallies Past Williamsville

Koyie Williams' grand slam highlighted a six-run second inning as Monticello answered a six-run frame from Williamsville and Eli Craft singled home the ultimate winning run as the Sages held off Williamsville for a 7-6 non-conference high school baseball win From Monticello Saturday morning.

 

Kyle Carter and Joe Catalano doubled in two runs apiece in the Bullets' six-run second inning. 

 

After Rai Colber singled home a run and Matt Swartz drew a bases-loaded walk, Williams tied the game with his fourth long ball of the year.

 

Craft singled home the eventual winning run in the fifth inning. 

 

Brody Billedo struck out seven in four scoreless innings of relief of Williams for Monticello.

 

A scheduled second game on the day eventually was a JV game for the Sages, keeping its undefeated season intact at 19-0 overall.

 

A showdown with undefeated Maroa-Forsyth awaits Monticello on Monday at the Wilkey Complex in Monticello. The matchups with Salt Fork and PBL late in the week.
