HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Edges Prairie Central to Advance in Regionals Playv

Cayden Rose's two-run doube in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Maroa-Forsyth a 4-3 as the Trojans held to just get by Prairie Central 4-3 in Class 2A Regional semifinal play Wednesday from the Bloomington Central Catholic Regional. 

 

Kaiden Maurer earned the win with three innings of relief of Connor Kelly. The senior struck out five in three scoreless frames and allowed just two hits.

 

Tate Brandenburg drove in a run with a double for the Trojans. Mauer finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. 

 

Prairie Central jumped out to a 3-0 in the top of the first inning.

 

Maroa-Forsyth is 22-4 overall. They advance to a Regional Championship on Saturday morning and will take on Normal U-High who blanked Tremont 8-0 in the second game of a Regional semifinal doubleheader.
