Tate Brandenburg's bases-clearing double capped a four-run sixth inning that broke open a Class 2A Sectional semifinal game as Maroa-Forsyth took down St. Joseph-Ogden 7-3 from Millikin University Wednesday afternoon.
Brandenburg drove in six of the Trojans seven runs finishing 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Kaiden Maurer and Mitch Williams each scored two runs. Williams was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Connor Kelly went 6 1/3 innings of three-run ball. He permitted seven hits, walked three, and struck out one.
The Trojans are 24-4 overall. They will go for a Sectional Championship Saturday afternoon at 1 pm from Millikin University.
