Mt. Pulaski scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning and escaped Armstrong-Potomac 5-1 in Class 1A Sectional semifinal action from Arcola Wednesday afternoon.

Tyler Cross drove in two runs with a base hit in the ninth and Luke Martin added an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the frame.

Chance Payne went seven innings allowing an unearned run on four hits with 14 strikeouts. 

Payne was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Mt. Pulaski improves to 26-3 overall. They will go for a Sectional Championship Saturday in Arcola.
