Ike Young was brilliant as the junior went the distance in Monticello's 2-0 win over Westville Wednesday in Class 2A high school baseball Sectional semifinal action from Millikin University.

Young struck out 11 in seven innings of four-hit ball. He walked one.

Jacob Long hit a two-run triple in the third inning for the only scoring for the Sages.

Luke Teschke had two hits and a run scored for Monticello. 

Cam Steinbaugh struck out 11 in seven innings of two-run ball for the Tigers in the tough-luck loss. Drew Wichtowski was 2-for-3 for Westville. 

Westville, who won a Regional for the first time in 30 years, finished its season at 25-6 overall. 

Monticello goes to 31-4 overall. They will take on Maroa-Forsyth for a Sectional championship on Saturday at 1 pm.
