HS Baseball: Champaign Central Edges Lincoln in Regional Championship

Champaign Central beat Lincon 2-1 in a pitcher's duel Saturday in high school baseball Class 3A Regional Championship action in Lincoln.

 

Chase Bartlett went five innings of one-run ball for the Maroons. He struck out three, walked two, and permitted four hits. Luke McClure was the pitcher of record for Central as he tossed two innings of scoreless relief. 

 

Wyatt McClure singled in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning to give Central a 2-1 lead. 

 

Mammen tossed 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball for the Railsplitters. The senior struck out five, walked four, and allowed eight hits. 

 

Colby Glenn was  2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Lincoln. Michael Lucas, Jarrett Evers, and Karson Komnick each had hits for the Railsplitters.

 

Lincoln ends its season with a 23-11 record. 

 

Champaign Central moves on to the Rochester Sectional where they battle Jacksonville next Wednesday at 4:30 pm.
