Six runs in the seventh inning propelled GCMS over Mt. Pulaski 7-1 in a high school baseball Class 1A Sectional Championship game in Arcola Saturday.
Ty Cribett's three-run double was the big hit of the inning. The senior was 2-for-4 with four RBIs on the afternoon. Brayden Elliot was 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the six-run frame.
Freshman Grayden Leonard went the distance on the mound for the Falcons with eight strikeouts. He issued three walks and permitted just one hit.
Tyler Cross had the only hit for the Hilltoppers, whose season ends with a record of 26-3.
GCMS will take on Kewanee-Weathersfield on Monday at 11 am from the Illinois Wesleyan Supersectional.
