HS FBall: Mahomet-Seymour Excited For What Is In Store This Season

The Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs were a young group last year and coming into this fall, it is about turning the corner.

Coach John Adkins is excited about what his young team showed last year and how they used a quick exit in the Class 4A playoffs to fuel them this winter and summer. He feels his kids this year have a lot of similarities to his 2022 team that was very dynamic.

This summer, Coach Adkins was focused on giving his athletes the tools to be good leaders on the football field. He notes that is in addition to his team's regular schedule of scrimmages and workouts.

Coach Adkins has his entire offensive line from last year as well as kids that played siginificant snaps behind the starters - in addition to a group of skill players that have siginifcant experience.

The Bulldogs strength will definitely be its offensive line. Coach Adkins likes the flexibility that will give them to do what it takes to win a game and then the ability to lean on the defense to win games this fall.

Mahomet-Seymour will look to defend its Apollo Conference title of two consecutive years by hosting Morton to open the season and begins conference action in week four when they host Charleston.
