HS FBall: Loaded Mt. Zion Offense Led By Two D-I Prospects

Having a Division I football prospect on a high school football team in central Illinois isn't unheard of - but to have two headed to a power five school is almost once-in-a-lifetime.

That's the privilege of Mt. Zion football Coach Patrick Etherton this fall. A senior class led by Brayden Trimble - an Illinois commit - and a junior class led by JC Anderson - headed to his choice of elite football schools in America - have expectations very high for the Braves.

Coach Etherton likes the talent he has on his football team this fall. While he graduated a lot of experience last year, he's very confident in the kids he has this fall.

Coach Etherton credits the selflessness of his talented weapons and their desire to win regardless of what their stat line is after the game. He also believes if opposing defenses take those two away, they have plenty of players capable of stepping up.

Mt. Zion travels to Limestone to open its season on Friday, Aug. 30.
