HS FBall: Dee-Mack Hoping for Better Luck This Fall

Last fall, the Dee-Mack Chiefs had to overcome perhaps more adversity than any team in the Heart of Illinois Conference.

They are hoping for much better luck this season and that the scar tissue formed from last year will make them better this fall. Coach Cody Myers was proud of the way his team responded to all the adversity of last fall to make the playoffs.

Coach Myers is pleased the numbers in his storied program are starting to recover and he is seeing some kids take the reigns and lead this summer - something he's very proud of.

Because of all the injuries on his team last year, Coach Myers saw several kids step up and get significant varsity snaps and some of those kids will now step into bigger roles this fall.

Coach Myers credits his team's knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the program - what they are doing and why they are doing it.

Dee-Mack opens the season hosting West Hancock on Friday, Aug. 30.
