A semifinal football team in Class 2A last year, the Shelbyville Rams have some big shoes to fill if they are going to return to that place this fall.
Head Coach Bill Duckett says the summer was used to fill in the gaps left by a graduating three-year quarterback and four offensive linemen. He feels confident though because his JV team had a lot of success last season.
The Rams will lean on a very good group of returning skill players this fall. Coach Duckett explains because of the inexperience in some places, they will start basic and build out from there.
According to Coach Duckett, his defense adjusts to the kids they have. He notes this fall they will be a little undersized so they are shifting back around again this fall.
Coach Duckett believes the athletes he brings back from last year's semifinal team are coming back hungry wanting and putting in the work to get back to that place.
The Rams host Newton to open the season on Friday, Aug. 30.
