Last year, Heyworth football had a season to remember, going 7-2 in the regular season and hosting a first-round playoff game.
Under first-year Coach Scott Godfrey, the Hornets are working towards an encore performance. Coach Godfrey indicates the summer has been spent getting to know his new athletes and installing his system.
Coach Godrey will want his Heyworth football team to control the football in the running game. Defensively, he wants his kids flying to the ball.
The Hornets will return their quarterback from last season who has multiple years playing varsity football as well as several players on its offensive and defensive lines.
The Hornets will open the season hosting Fisher on Friday, Aug. 30.
