HS Football: Maroons Looking for Back-to-Back Postseason Appearances

Last week was the Week 0 scrimmage for IHSA. The Clinton Maroons took on the Heyworth High Hornets in an interesting format. Each team was allowed 24 plays on offense, and 24 plays on defense. No special teams plays were allowed and IHSA officials were present. Head Coach Ron Bass believes this is good for the players to prepare for the season.

Tonight, Clinton High School takes on East Alton Wood River at home. Coach Bass says there will need to be some improvements on offense. They are still unsure on positions in the offensive line, and who will be playing quarterback.

Clinton opens the season hosting East Alton-Wood River tonight at 7 pm. Hear the action on The Big 1520 AM/92.3 FM/106.5 FM WHOW and online at dewittdailynews.com.
